THE STORY

IMG_1171 (1).jpg

Les Yeux, when translated into English, means “The Eyes”.

For an art form centered around visual perception and interpretation, nothing is more vital to the enjoyment of fashion than one’s eyes. Representing the world you see and the unique way that you interpret it, The Eyes are a perfect symbol for your individual visual experience.

The French phrase Les Yeux is additionally important due to the fact that, when mispronounced with an American accent, it can often sound like the English word “leisure”. This transition and Americanization of the word mirrors the American interpretation of French fashion and couture, which led to a new generation of American streetwear designers. The brand’s structure mirrors this transition, combining the eye for detail that characterizes Parisian couture with the raw and unapologetic expression of designer American streetwear.

True to its name, the brand's message and objective is to use art to question the role of one's eyes in their interpretation and expression. Absence de Lumiére, the upcoming premier couture collection, alters silhouettes and uses reflection to challenge how one sees form and figure.

Absence de Lumiére tests the way people see and interpret the world around them. Garments play with reflections and visual interpretation in different ways, some through contrasts of color, material, and silhouette.

In contrast, Ennui, the streetwear collection, studies the messages expressed through one's eyes, rather than the messages observed.
